SED 322- Classroom Leadership/Sec Schls
SED 322 focuses on developing essential leadership skills to help future teachers contribute to the overall success of their learners in the classroom as well as to the entire goals and educational objectives of the school and district. A special emphasis will be placed on the professional ethics, practices and legal responsibilities necessary to ensure successful teaching in secondary environments. The course will also explore the role of teachers in enhancing parent involvement, professional competencies, culturally relevant practices, and exploring critical issues in secondary education. By creating a personal professional development plan, learners will apply theoretical principles of leadership to concrete forms of communications, goal setting, and professional development. Learners will also be asked to analyze narrative case studies for specific legal and ethical issues that they are likely to face throughout their careers.
